Topic Brainstorm week 8

For my project, I chose three topic selections I feel I may do. One topic selection I feel I am interested in is to choose a reading and consider what the reading reflects about its historical, social, political and economic context. Personally, I feel I many do this topic because I find it fun and interesting to be looking into the context of story, like looking into a reading historically. It really tells you the story behind the story. Plus, I would always love to learn more about the history behind a reading. Not to mention, I feel that research skills will help me quite well on this topic. Another topic I feel that I may choose is to choose one of the questions, like “In what ways could this story be considered an artifact of history” and to explore that question in the project submission. I chose this as one of the topics because I feel that I can research this pretty well because frankly, I like to look further into the meanings behind stories and this is one way to do so. The last topic selection I have decided upon is to choose two selections and to pick two characters from two different selections and explore the similarities and differences between those characters, or I can explore how one theme is handled in two different stories. I chose this because I struggle with comparisons and I feel that by doing it, I can work on that weakness/struggle. There is only one way to get better and that is to practice so that is why this is one of my three topic selections. Overall, the many mistakes in my first project submission should help me write whatever topic I choose to elaborate upon because I now know what to watch for in writing and proofreading this next project submission.

  1. Hi Kaylee, the topics that you chose seems really fun, I did the first one for my project last time and it was interesting. I would really like to know what stories you have in mind for your projects. I think I am also doing the artifact one for my project too. Choosing a project that you struggle with is amazing because it will help you practice contrast and comparison like you said. It would also help you to make a list of the readings and see which ones best fit the topics. Or maybe you could do a spider web, choose a couple of stories and list their similarities and differences. This might help you with that specific topic more than the others, but you can use it with others, and could also be a better option.Whichever project topic you choose I wish you the best of luck.

  2. Hi there, Kaylee!
One thing I think you could’ve done to organize this clearer is to separate your different ideas into different sections or paragraphs. However, I don’t think that’s incredibly important in this case, but just remember that when it comes to writing your actual project! In this case it didn’t really come in the way for me to understand what you were trying to say. I think you had a clear idea for each of your three prompts of what you will go with. I especially liked your proposition for the third prompt! I think it’d be awesome for you to tackle one of your weaknesses. I have full faith in you growing stronger in your comparing and contrasting skills! That’d be awesome for me to see you do for your project. Such a daring and admirable move. Overall great job, Kaylee, and I can’t wait to see what else you have to offer!

  3. Hey Kaylee,
This brainstorm is ideal your really doing the action of brain storming out all of the ideas you have and that is the most important part. So you nailed this post and it looks very helpful reading through it because you describe how you can go with so many options. So Im guessing that you have all of your readings down pack that you want to use and that shows you are going to have a good structured submission since you know your reading and can explain your topics so clearly. I do the same when brainstorming and that another reason I like your post so much because it is the best way to get your brain stimulated the thinking of a topic to choose. Not being so together and having a topic ready and not exploring your options is how you get stuck with that one topic instead of having so many topic to pick from.

  4. Hello Kaylee,
Your brainstorm is laid out nicely and really organized. It was good to see you chose a topic and then said a little something about it like what your ideas were about it. Two of the topics have to do with history, and It looks like you enjoy history and reading into depth about things based of your comments in your brainstorm. From here, I think you just need to think more deeply about what topic you want to choose, and then start planning even more. Your ideas about the projects you've posted show that you are a good planner, so I am sure this wont be a problem to do. I hope you are able to choose a topic easily, and then move on to your actual project. Good luck with everything.
