Introduction to a Horror Fanatic

Hello all!

I am Kaylee Stull and I am 19 years old.

To start off, I would like to say I am excited to take this class. I have never blogged before and would love the experience. Plus the more practice on my writing skills, the better.  I would very much love to develop my writing skills and hopefully be good enough to have a job revolving around writing one day. However, I have a long way to go. Therefore, I am headed towards the writing route and declared English as my major.

Alongside those hopes, I also want to transfer to a four-year college but have no clue as to what college I hope to attend. I was thinking of either an out-of-state college or one in California near a beach because God knows I love to swim.  In fact, I actually play water polo and swim for Diablo Valley College but take my courses at Los Medanos College because I live closer to the Brentwood campus. It is a bit of a drive sometimes but I find it to be worthwhile.

On a different note, I watch a lot of television shows and movies. In general, I watch a lot of Netflix, especially on breaks. Right now, I am actually watching The Punisher and find the show to be absolutely amazing. However, I do watch a lot of other shows, like Lost but find myself having to take breaks because of the many seasons. My all-time favorite show to watch happens to be American Horror Story because I just love the horror genre. I just cannot seem to get bored of that show as it always has me interested.

As I mentioned previously, I declared my major as English because I want to head towards the writing route. There is actually more reason to it. I just absolutely love to read! One of my favorite authors is Stephen King because of the horror and how much of his writing is pure genius. His stories always seem to keep me on edge. I like to always get my reading in any shape or form, so I either read Reddit No Sleep online or read from the many collections of books I have spread around my room.

To finish, I would like to at least mention the fact that I have such cute and adorable dogs! One of my dogs is 10 years old and is a Miniature Pinscher mix. His name is Dale. Sadly, he is blind now due to cataracts and struggles to move around the house so he just follows us as closely as possible by literally walking against our ankles. My other dog is only 2 years old and her name is Kleo. She is a Pit bull mix and absolutely loves to run. In fact, if we simply put on our tennis shoes, she is just ready to go and will not leave our side until we take her with us. I find it completely adorable! Not to mention, the fact that she is small for a Pit bull to where we call her a pocket pit because she has just the shortest legs.

  1. Hi Kaylee! Welcome to the course! I am excited you want to be a writer! And I admire anyone who can handle water polo -- that is one tough game to play! I am totally not into horror -- can't handle it -- but my kids seem to love it, so I am often running out of rooms when things get scary.

I look forward to working with you this semester!

  2. Hi Kaylee! Your introduction was so entertaining to read. I haven't watched enough horror things!! I saw the new IT movie and LOVED it, so that might have opened a door for me. You'll have to give me suggestions! I also am pursuing an English degree to ultimately get into writing, so it excites me that we relate in that sense. Can't wait to work with you further on, and I'm positive you'll be successful in your future endeavors :)

  3. Hey Kaylee! Wow your dogs are so incredibly cute! I have 2 dogs and they're everything to me. One of my dog is a full Mini Pinscher and his name is Peanut so that's funny. Also, I am an English major too so good luck on transferring to a school near a beach! :)

  4. Hi Kaylee!
I just want to start off my saying your dogs are adorable. I believe this class is great for practicing our writing skills and having fun just by being able to use this blog. I have watched American Horror Story before, but I just couldn't really get into. The Punisher on the other hand I haven't had the chance to watch it. Is it a good show? Do you recommend me to watch it? I hope you have a great semester.

  5. Hi Kaylee! Good to meet another English major! I'm sure you're going to write incredible things. I have yet to watch The Punisher, but I have watched Daredevil on Netflix. I'm hoping to catch up and get to watching it. And your dogs are so adorable! I haven't seen many small pitbulls, which is pretty cool. It's very nice to meet you!

  6. Hi Kaylee!

I too have a dog! An adorable mixed Chihuahua/Pomeranian named Luke!! Just like your dogs, he runs to the front door whenever we get ready for work and if we pick up his leash, no matter where he is in the house, he'll know and start running to us! I also watch Netflix sometimes because there usually isn't anything to watch on TV. I wish you the best of luck in your endeavors!

  8. Hello Kaylee, I find it awesome that you are a Stephen King fan, my favorite story by him is the Novella 1922, brings chills up my spine. I have a dog, a Lab/Pit mix named Koda (after the bear cub from Brother Bear) that we nicknamed the Living Wrecking Ball. I have not seen the punisher yet but it is something I would like to get into. If you want to read some other horror stories that you won't find in book stores I can name a few sites that allow you to post your own stories as well! It is very nice to meet you!

  9. Nice to meet you Kaylee!
Thank you for sharing with us your dogs and your interests. I also have a pit mix and she is incredibly smart to the point where it scares me a little. Good luck with your schooling, there are plenty of colleges near beaches!

  10. Hey Kaylee! Thank you for sharing your major and interests! It's really cool that your aspiring to work in the literature field. Also,I like that you are honest about what you want to major in and what college you want to transfer to. I also watched the tv show Punisher. I thought it was really good and tragic because I hated that one of Frank Castle's closest friends had something to do with the death of his wife and kids. Anyways, I wish you the best of luck with this course and your major.
